Aston Martin confirmed the Cygnet model will be put on production

Aston has just confirmed its plans to launch the Aston Martin Cygnet which is based on the Toyota iQ in 2011. According Aston Martin, this compact car will set a new benchmark for compact luxury as the world’s automaker are looking for a more viable solution for fuel economy while being green to the emission standards. This new compact luxury cars will likely powered by a 1.33 litre petrol engine with 97hp and quite a punchy 123Nm of torque and the fuel efficiency was rated at 55mpg with only emitting 120gm of Co2 per kilometre.

According to Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez, "Whatever we do, we do right. If we do performance, we do performance; we don't downsize or compromise our sports cars. The Cygnet needs to satisfy the demands of emissions and space. It is a car without compromise, just like every other Aston Martin."

Well the Aston has finally unveiled its plans, now hopefully the Lotus City Concept car will become a reality as this car has a nicer proportion of design and it will be the nearest rival of this new Aston Martin Cygnet.
