Proton Inspira launched!!

As you all probably know unless you live in a cave without any connection to the outside world, Proton today has launched the Inspira at Proton Centre of Excellence this morning. The car looks basically like what we have seen previously on the internet with spy pics has been circulating faster than Proton can produce the car on its assembly line. I would not comment much about the design as many people have seen the car in flesh or on the internet from other website, so would rather explain the other details about this new Proton baby.

Currently Proton has managed to secure 1,800 booking prior to the launch and to celebrate the early batch buyers of Inspira, Proton has invited the first 11 Inspira owners to receive their shining new mock up key of soon to be their daily rides. In terms of features, the 1.8 Executive version will feature a dual airbags, ABS with EBD braking system, 2-DIN Radio/CD with MP3 player and Bluetooth audio streaming and telephony function, 16” alloy wheels, fabric seat, security tinted film and a multipurpose container.

For the Premium version, the 2.0 CVT will features an additional leather seat, a GPS Private Navigation Device (PND), Paddle shift control, Auto Cruise control, Auto Light sensor, Auto Rain Sensor, seat and door trim finishing, body kit and rear spoiler, chrome trunk lid garnish and fully automatic air conditioning system to set it apart from the cheaper Executive variant.

In terms of In Car Entertainment, the Inspira will feature a head unit from Clarion with the sound has been tuned by a French company Arkamys System that has been well known for its works with other European OEM such as Renault and PSA Peugeot. What the Arkamys System provides with the audio enhancement to the Inspira is a system known as VAPS (Virtual Audio Positioning System) which has 3 levels of enhancement, one is off, two is enhancement for driver only and three is enhance for all. The enhancement for the driver only when switch on, is that the sound that has been created by the system will provide a high fidelity sound stage just for the driver as seems the speaker is surrounding the driver where as other passenger will feel the sound seems to be not involving with them.

To get the whole surround sound stage, the third enhancement i.e. enhancement for all should be selected where high fidelity sound will be heard to all passenger in the cabin. Trust me on this, the sound coming out from this system is way better then the sound from the standard head unit from Mitsubishi as I have listened to it yesterday during my visit to my friend’s Proton dealership together with my friend who is driving a Mitsubishi Lancer. He has knock his head twice listening to the sound coming out from Inspira and also knowing the price is way cheaper than his current ride. Looks like he has to live with the car for the whole repayment tenure. Pity for him.

In terms of choice of colours, the Inspira comes in 4 different colours which is Plum Red, Solid White, Genetic Silver and Tranquillity Black and for any booking made before 15th of November will entitled to 2 years or 50,000km whichever comes first free servicing including labours and parts worth more than RM 1,658 thus if you have made the calculation and fancy the Inspira, do head down as soon as possible to grab this attractive packages.
