In conjunction with the upcoming festive season, Volkswagen Group Malaysia yesterday announced its “Safe and Stylish Balik Kampung” campaign in collaboration with renowned and award-winning fashion designer Melinda Looi.
With a brand new Polo Sedan ready to be won as the grand prize, this exciting campaign will run from June 10 to July 10 and was launched at a fashion show in conjunction with the unveiling of Melinda Looi’s ‘emel by Melinda Looi’ 2014 Raya collection.
Christoph Aringer, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia shares, “Ramadan and the upcoming Raya celebration is the season of virtues and as a company who regards these values, we want to be a part of this contribution by sharing and spreading the cheer in bringing mobility solutions to people. It is a time of giving during this festive season; we are excited to give away a brand new Polo Sedan to one lucky winner just in time for a “Safe and Stylish Balik Kampung.”
‘emel by Melinda Looi’ is a socially conscious fashion initiative by Melinda Looi. In line with emel’s brand direction of collaborating with celebrities to promote the spirit of giving during Ramadhan, the fashion designer invited Malaysian actress, model, and TV host Diana Danielle to co-design ‘Diana Danielle x emel’’, a capsule collection of ladies’ Baju Raya inspired by the celebrity’s personal style of youthful and feminine elegance. A portion of proceeds from both collections will be channeled to the IJN Foundation, as nominated by Diana, to help the underprivileged heart patients seeking treatment at the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN).

Launched in 2013, the German engineered - Malaysian assembled Polo Sedan boasts a spirited performance with the best-in-class torque of 153Nm at 3,800rpm.
