PRESS RELEASE: Perodua Donated RM40,000 Worth Of Emergency Supplies to East Coast Flood Victims

Perodua, in collaboration with Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN), has distributed RM40,000 worth of emergency supplies to the flood victims in Kelantan and Terengganu.

“Since our initial cooperation began on 19 December, we have fully distributed emergency items to the evacuees in the worst hit areas in both Kelantan and Terengganu,” Perodua President and CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.

On 19 December, Perodua collaborated with MKN, the national disaster relief coordinator, by offering to supply much needed goods sleeping bags, food and fresh water to those displaced by floods.

The flood situation has worsened with other states, such as Pahang, Perak, Kedah, Perlis and Sabah, reporting alarming water levels.

“We have also committed our volunteers to assist in assisting those affected clean their damaged homes in one of the worst floods to hit the country,” Aminar said.

“We will continue to monitor the flood situation and will give additional support as well as assistance if the situation warrants in easing the burden of the victims. This includes our staff, dealers, vendors, our valued customers and the general public.”

In addition, we have performed “solat hajat” and “doa Selamat” earlier this week in seeking God’s assistance to deliver us from this disaster and we will perform them again in the near future,” Aminar said.

In addition to the goods, Perodua is also offering assistance to all Perodua vehicle owners who were impacted by the flooding.

This includes towing services, discounts on selected parts and free inspections to determine the amount of damage done to the vehicle.

Perodua’s customers whose vehicles were damaged during the recent floods are encouraged to call the Perodua’s toll free customer care line at 1800-88-6600 for assistance.

“Our customers matter most to us and this value-added service is provided to help relieve some of the burden our fellow Malaysians as well as our customers’ are facing during this disaster,” Aminar said.

On the assistance given, Aminar said that Perodua will reimburse towing service fees up to a maximum of RM100 (one hundred ringgit only) to the nearest Perodua service outlet. In total, there are 176 Perodua service outlets nationwide. (Terms and Conditions apply).

In addition, Perodua is also offering 20% off selected parts to Perodua owners whose vehicles are damaged by the floods.

The parts include all electronic items, carpet, vehicle seats, door trims and engine overhaul gasket.

This offer has been consistently offered to our customers since 2011.
