Honda of Japan launch the JDM Honda Freed Spike

Honda of Japan has just recently launched a new JDM Honda Freed called the “Freed Spike” for people with active lifestyle. This model is basically a spin off version from the original Freed that was recently offered here in Malaysia.

The changes of this new model were it is only have two rows of seats for five passengers that can be arranged in several configurations. Besides that, Honda also added a new dual height floor panels in the cargo area and also an additional storage areas on the side panels.

As for the exterior changes, there is a redesigned front end with a newly shaped headlamps, grille and also bumper design which to me looks way better than the standard Freed. With only two rows of seats, the third side windows have been replace by plastic panel that look a bit weird on cars. But we are talking about JDM models. There are a lot of weird looking cars in Japan so I assume this will pass without any problem for Japanese car buyers. To complete the whole visual exterior changes, there is a new alloy wheel design with the same rim sizes as the standard Freed. As for the engine, it is a carried over engine from the standard Freed which is a 1.5 litre petrol engine with a CVT transmission or 5 speed automatic transmission like what has been offered here in Malaysia.
