Tesla Motors show the first glimpse of Model S in its Alpha stage form!!

Model S Alpha Hits the Road from Tesla Motors on Vimeo.

On the previous post, I have posted a few videos explaining the vehicle engineering of what would be the Tesla Model S. Now the latest video from Tesla unveiled the Model S in its Alpha stage build where they will test this prototype through various test patterns and also through some homologation procedure before Tesla build another test vehicle in Beta stages which will be more mirrored to the production Model S that has been reported to be unveiled officially in 2012.

According to Graham Sutherland, a Tesla vehicle dynamist, the Alpha prototype has shown a very promising result and its agility has been remarkable for the size of this car. Remember this car has been reported to be able to seat 7 people. The car has great handling balance and the steering wheel has provided a very positive feedback to the driver. As I have mention before, the was powered by a lithium ion battery which sits very low on the car chasis, thus it is not possible for the car to achieve great handling dynamics.

The power from the battery can push the car to 96km/h in 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 193km/h and this car has a maximum range of between 160 miles to 300 miles or 483km on a single charge. Enjoy the video
