Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn. Bhd (ETCM) is accepting bookings for the soon-to-be launched, locally assembled All-New Nissan XTrail, from 13 December onwards. Currently one of Japan’s top-selling SUVs, it is available in the United States, Australia and across Europe, and has already been introduced in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand to great success.

Bold and energetic, with an exciting new design coupled with innovative technology and exceptional performance, the All-New Nissan X-Trail is the ultimate all-weather, all capable SUV. Director of Marketing and Product Planning, Mr Tan Keng Meng in announcing the coming of the All-New Nissan X-Trail said, “Since its global launch early this year, Nissan has sold more than 250,000 units around the world, winning numerous awards in countries such as Indonesia, Mexico and in the UK. With this in mind, we are very excited about being able to introduce one of the world’s most popular SUVs in Malaysia, and we are confident that the X-Trail will lead the way in the SUV segment here.”

The All-New Nissan X-Trail features ground-breaking advanced chassis control technology that have been adopted as world-firsts to ensure smooth, stress-free driving experience. The Active Ride Control system moderates any pitching motion experienced by drivers on bumpy roads by controlling engine torque and brakes to improve ride comfort, while the Active Engine Brake system adjusts the amount of engine braking to assist drivers  to reduce speed when cornering or stopping. Additionally, the Active Trace Control system – a ‘Nissan-first’ – automatically applies small amounts of braking to the individual wheels to reduce understeer and help the driver maintain control around corners.

The All-New Nissan X-Trail is available locally in two variants, 2.5L 4WD and 2.0L 2WD. The range topping 2.5L 4WD variant is powered with the QR25DE-k2 engine with Twin CVTC, providing maximum power output of 171 PS at 6,000 rpm and 233 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 2.0L 2WD variant comes with the MR20DD engine with direct injection and Twin CVTC, capable of 144 PS at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm.

Both variants come fitted with Nissan’s Next Generation Xtronic CVT with 7-speed manual mode, and ECO mode system for better fuel efficiency and a smoother and powerful driving performance.

The 2.5L variant is also equipped with an ALL MODE INTELLIGENT 4x4 System (4x4-i), offering a choice between two-wheel drive, Auto Mode or Lock Mode for permanent four-wheel drive.

Other features that go the extra mile for customer comfort and safety are the ‘ZeroGravity Inspired’ Seats that helps reduce fatigue, and a first-in-class 360° Around View Monitor for added parking convenience. Five colours are available; Tungsten Silver, Titanium Olive, Diamond Black, Graphite Blue and Brilliant White. The All-New Nissan X-Trail is expected to be marketed below RM170,000 for the 2.5L 4WD variant, and below RM 150,000 for the 2.0L 2WD variant.
