Perodua launched its New Myvi model, replacing the current Myvi model line-up, here today packed with better features and at greater value for its customers.
The New Myvi’s new improvements include enhanced safety features, better styling and at a better price positioning.
“The Myvi has been well accepted by the market and has so far generated a total sales volume of over 800,000 units, making it the most popular Perodua model to date,” Perodua President and CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.
“The Myvi has impacted a lot of lives in Malaysia and we believe that this model is still relevant and well accepted by our society. We offer our heartfelt thank you to all Malaysians for your continued support,” Aminar said.
The New Myvi was launched by Perodua Chairman, Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin at a Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, today.
The New Perodua Myvi safety features are now improved with a 4-star rating by the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asia) as we have enhanced the vehicle structure to better withstand frontal impacts in line with global standards.
Improvements for the New Myvi include front corner sensors that can be activated by the driver based on need.
“This feature will assist drivers when making tricky corners when parking. In addition, this feature can be deactivated when driving or during traffic jams as not to cause unnecessary discomfort to the driver,” Aminar said.
Aminar said that the New Myvi also features an anti-snatch hook on the front passenger seat and a retractable cup holder for storage convenience.
“We have also updated our multimedia system to include a reverse camera for selected variants,” Aminar said.
“These improvements were made after an extensive study on how we can bring greater value to our customers and from this study we were able to increase the value proposition by RM4,500 – through both added features and price down,” he said.
Aminar added that these improvements was part of the compact carmaker’s as well as its vendors’ continuous effort to further reduce cost and transfer some of the savings to the customers.
“To add a little flavour to the New Myvi, we are featuring 2 new metallic colours, which are Electric Blue (SE and Advanced variants) and Cosmic Gold (Standard G and Premium X variants) alongside favourite colours of Ozzy Orange, Mystical Purple, Glittering Silver and Ivory White (Solid),” Aminar said.
“We target to sell 6,000 units of the New Myvi a month,” he added.
There will be a total 2 segments to the New Myvi consisting of 4 variants. The first segment will be in the 1.3-litre category, which comes in Standard G (MT/AT) and a new variant – Premium X (AT only).
The second segment is the 1.5-litre category, which include the Myvi SE 1.5 (MT/AT) and the Myvi Advance Version (AT only).
The Price range for The New Myvi is between RM41,500 and RM58,900 in peninsular Malaysia.
