Proton Inspira price leaked on the internet!!!!

The final puzzle is nearly complete. Now we have the price list of the Proton Inspira which was leaked over the internet which I think an official memo being sent by Proton Edar to its dealers nationwide prior to the soft launch of the Proton Inspira. The price of the all new Proton Inspira will start from RM 79,999 for the 1.8 Manual with solid paint to the highest price of RM 94,450 for the 2.0 Litre CVT with Metallic Paint and all these prices are for Peninsula Malaysia.

Besides the prices, we also know that the interest rate charge by the participating bank will start from 3.55% for 5 years repayment period to 3.9% for 9 years repayment period which is slightly lower compared to the interest rate of other cheaper Proton models. Besides that, new Proton car owners will not enjoy the 5 years extended warranty period which previous owner enjoy automatically, but don’t be fret about it, owners can still enjoy the 5 years warranty period for their beloved ride, but this will come with a price, and the price is an additional 0.2% per annum which I think quite reasonable as this will definitely makes a trouble free experience of owning the all new Proton Inspira.

What comes as a surprise and future owners need to be patient is the waiting period of the car at that particular moment when the memo was sent out was 1.5 months, thus my advice is be patient dear future owners, as I can assure you, you get a very best product at a fraction of the original price with the car comes almost 90% of Japan CKD parts. That I would say worth every penny out of your pocket.

Mugen of Japan has recently release its brand new styling package for the Honda Fit or known as Jazz in Malaysia which has seen a rework grill front spoiler, rear wing spoiler, side skirts, a new set wheels to already handsome little car. The most stylish look were the RS kits which essentially makes the standard Fit a much sportier and aggressive looks with its newly design “Mecha” like front spoiler. Enjoy the rest of the pics.

All new Toyota Vitz/Yaris brochure leaked on the internet

Toyota Japan soon will be busy to get ready to present is latest generation of its Japanese domestic market Toyota Vitz which is essentially Toyota Yaris as what it has been called here in Malaysia. Toyota Japan has setup a teaser site for this all new Vitz and according to the site, the car will go on sale in Japan in December 2010.

Luckily with the borderless communication, a leaked brochure image of this new car has found its way on the internet, and finally we can see the final design of the new car. Based on the pictures of the all new Toyota Vitz; it has showed us that Toyota is now ready to change its design from the safe approach to a more aggressive kinda looks with the car has seen a much shorter height of 20mm compared to ongoing models, and much longer car of 100mm has been added in total length where 50mm of the added length has found its way to the wheel base thus the new Yaris will have an improve interior cabin space compared to the current model. Enjoy the rest of the pics after the jump

Lotus to use rivet bonded aluminium spaceframes technology for its new car line up!!

Lotus recently has made a bang during the Paris Motor Show last month early this month has recently announced its engineering plan on how it’s going to manufacture its all new range of cars. According to Lotus Engineering chief, Wolf Zimmerman, for the next 5 models that going to come out from Hethel plant will use rivet bonded aluminium spaceframes and part-stressed aluminium skins in order to raise its quality to the standars set by other supercar makers such as Ferrari, Aston Martin and Lamborghini.

Zimmerman which use to be a board director at AMG left for Lotus about a month ago said that the exterior finish and interior quality will be improve significantly compared to the current model as Lotus will start to play with other big and well establish boys. Besides the sports car, the new city car concept will also play a vital role in the Lotus transformation plan as it will embark to a more greener car which is essentially a regulation set by the EU community to have a lower Co2 emission thus the need to have a high end, urban commuter car is very essential as the car will fight with the same category as the Aston Martin Cygnet.

In order to achieved such lower Co2 emission, Lotus has a very monumental task ahead of them as the company needs to be in line with other car makers which in recent years seen a drastically reduce its carbon emission in order to meet the much tougher emission standard set by the EU community. Zimmerman also revealed that, although the V6 and V8 engines will be sourced from Toyota, the Elise model will have a new engine which is a force fed 2.0 litre that will not be source from Toyota.

I wonder which engine manufacturer Lotus will use for its new Lotus Elise. Smells like the marriage between Proton and Mitsubishi might be extended to this project since Mitsubishi has a force fed engine for its Mitsubishi Evo X. Only time will tell what’s the actual outcome.

All new Nissan Teana will be launch on 19th November 2010!!!

We have seen numerous spy shots of the all new Nissan Teana being caught testing on the roads of Malaysia. Since then, seems the news has subsided and there is no new news regarding to the all new Nissan Teana. Thanks to my tipster Ivan, the all new Nissan Teana will be launch on November 19th in Klang Valley.

So far no specification has been indicated yet, but a peek at Nissan Thailand website shows that the all new Nissan Teana features two models; a 2.5 litres, 6 cylinder 24 valve V6 engine and also 2.0 Litres 4 cylinder 16 valves engine with both cars features CVTC (continuous valve timing control) and paired to a silky smooth X-Tronic CVT transmission. For the 2.5 litre engine, the power that has been indicated is 182ps at 6,000 RPM and 228Nm of torque and for the 2.0 litre engine, the rated power is 136ps with the torque of 190Nm which is quite good for a 2.0 Litre engine.

Besides that, all cars models of Teana will feature a Twin Orifice Vehicle Speed Sensing Power Steering (TOPS) which I presume a variable speed power steering as what we have seen features in the Honda Accord dubbed Variable Gear Ratio (VGR) steering wheel which essentially varying the feel of the steering as the vehicles moves on, where it is light on slow speed especially during parking manoeuvre and quite heavy during accelerated drive. This car also features a very generous legroom with stats stated a wheel base of 2775mm , the same wheel base as Toyota Camry with only Honda Accord features slightly longer wheel base at 2800mm .

In terms of other features, the all new Nissan Teana has been equipped with Xenon headlight system for the 2.5 Litre model, a UV cut glass, LED side turn mirror and rear combination lamp, a MP3 with 6 disc CD changer with 6 speakers, a Multi Function Display, a Start/Stop button system, and a cruise control.

In terms of safety, the all new Nissan Teana features a total of 6 air bags, VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control), ABS and BA (Brake Assist), EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), a reverse sensor, an immobilizer, pre tensioner and load limiter seat belt system, and lastly an Active Head Restrained System.

Hopefully the models that will be launch here in Malaysia will not differ much from what has been offered in Thailand as I can assure you, with this amount of kit and a very attractive pricing, the all new Nissan Teana can be a challenger for the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry as I can assure you this car is a stunner. Trust me on this; I have seen it on the road in Bangkok and boy it does look so handsomely especially the rear end. I will contact Tan Chong Motors about this model soon and hopefully I have some news for you readers of Auto Insider Malaysia.

Honda to launch the all new Honda Brio in India next year

Honda Seil Cars India will soon launch the all new  Honda Brio next year to pit against the more well establish competitor in the guise of Maruti Suzuki Alto and also the Hyundai Santro. Currently Honda does not have a very competitive cars to be able to sell in numbers in India due to un availability of an entry level car thus the need to have this new Honda Brio is the highest priority of Honda Seil Car India. According to Mr Takashi Nagai, President and CEO of Honda Seif Cars India, added “We are focused right now on successfully launching our next small car. With this car, we will hopefully increase our sales beyond 1 lakh units from the current 60,000 units and also start car assembly at our Tapukara plant. Initially it will only be a hatchback, but like the City (sedan for Jazz) it may also be expanded to a sedan.” Based on the looks of this new Honda Brio, it does look sleek and beautiful, wonder if Honda Malaysia can have this car in its line up in order to pit against the same favourite in the guise of Hyundai i10, Suzuki Alto, Kia Picanto and also the Perodua Myvi.

Aston Martin promotional video of the Cygnet

Aston Martin has release a video describing their new baby the Cygnet and why the need to have this new baby. Numerous times in the video, Aston Martin personnel has indicated that the new Cygnet is tailor fit with all the interior and the luxury of owning an Aston Martin can be tailored the same as when you purchase any other Aston Martin cars. One reason being thrown in by Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez why we need the Cygnet is quite reasonable being stated that we don’t expect someone to drive an Aston DB9 to commute daily thus the need to have the same luxury and feel of an Aston can be achievable for a daily commute with the Aston Martin Cygnet. Hopefully we can see the same promotional video of the Lotus CityCar concept soon and hear what the Lotus has in mind why they need to build the Lotus CityCar concept.

Spy shot of Perodua Myvi replacement!!!

Wow thanks to my blog clan Funtasticko, we have another spy shot for this month which is possibly the replacement model for Perodua Myvi. Sources to funtasticko have not reveal yet where he caught the car but by looking at the photo, it does looks like the car was being caught on the road testing near Bandar Salak Tinggi going towards Nilai area.  The car we are seeing here is just a test mule which is basically the car being bought by Perodua to test the localize parts on the car, and the design of the car will defer from the Japanese counterpart as usual.  Sources indicated that the car will be powered by a 1.5 Litre engine and also a 1.3 Litre engine for the base line model and the car will possibly be launched in April next year according to my inside sources in Perodua when he went  to Japan last April.

Suzuki of Japan recalls Suzuki Swift and three other models!!!

Suzuki of Japan has just filed with the Japan transport ministry of a worldwide recalls for the Suzuki Swift and three other models that has not been disclose yet due to problems with the car’s side mirrors as over time strong vibration could cause the screws to loosen and might result in the mirrors to falling off from the door. So far Suzuki has received 77 complaints on the matter but no accidents have been reported. The total numbers of cars being subjected to recalls are 282,617 units where 192,000 units are cars being sold abroad and 90,167 units are cars being sold in Japan. So far no news yet from the local distributors of Suzuki Swift which is Suzuki Malaysia Automobiles Sdn. Bhd. I will try to get the latest news about this recalls whether the cars being assemble here also subjected to the recalls. Stay tune for more updates.

Video galore of the all new Hyundai Avante MD

This is one of the models that I have much anticipated to be brought in by Hyundai Sime Darby Motors which is the Hyundai Avante MD, the replacement of the current Hyundai Avante X20 that was currently being sold in Malaysia. A look at the price in Korea reveals that the new Hyundai Avante with the highest spec which is the “Premium” version only sells for RM 53,000 if convert from Korean Won to Malaysian Ringgit. That is so cheap if you look at the specification and electronic features that being offered there in Korea.

If we count in the tax being impose if it is imported as CBU in Malaysia plus the profit margin by Hyundai Sime Darby, we may look at the price to be offered here for the new Avante would be at the same levels or a little bit higher (better profit margin for HSDM) as all the car range in Korea features the 1.6GDI engine which is not the same as what being offered now on the current model. Being a smaller engine displacement would mean less tax being impose for the import and excise duty for this new model. I really hope that HSDM would bring in the car here soon, as current wave of Hyundai car has started to see it shine here as more Malaysian already seen being receptive to this Korean marque. Any way enjoy the video clips being short in Korea about this new Hyundai Avante after the jump.

Proton Persona replacement will be on the road by first quarter of 2012!!

Ingress Corporation Bhd has received a letter of intent from Proton to supply the roof drip mouldings through Ingress Engineering Sdn Bhd and also to supply door sash panel through majority owned Ingress Precision Sdn Bhd. According to the reports, the supply for this moulding and door sash project will begin by fourth quarter of financial year ending Jan 31, 2012 for a duration of five years and through this projects, Ingress has forecasted to generate a total revenue of about RM50 Million with the total investment of this project will be RM 16 Million.

So what this article is all about. The headline is very clear to supply parts for new Proton model. As far as we all know and it is also has been indicated by Proton’s Group MD that Persona replacement is on the card and with this press statement to supply parts for Proton’s new model we can know that the Persona replacement project is on and the most interesting is, we can roughly assume that the Persona replacement will be launch in the first quarter of 2012 as the parts of roof mouldings and door sash will start to supply on the financial year ending Jan 31st 2012 as indicated in the reports. After the Proton Inspira, next target for Proton car enthusiast will be the Persona replacement. Get ready spy shooter, we may see the car on the road by next year, most probably by second quarter of next year as Proton will test the car on the road before the production begin in the first quarter of 2012.

Latest spy shot of Peugeot 207 Sedan caught near Cyberjaya

This is the latest round of spy pics of the new Peugeot 207 sedan being spotted near Cyberjaya recently. Based on the looks of this car, I can say it looks nice and does not look awkward as this car was basically a Peugeot 207 with a boot. As you may know the car will be launch next month and I’m still waiting the confirmation from Naza Corporation about the launching of this new car. Some insider said that Naza will price the car under RM90K thus if it is true, this would be the cheapest latest Peugeot car in town besides the Peugeot 206 hatchback.

Proton Inspira Phase 2 is on the card!!

The waiting is over by today’s afternoon as Proton will unveil the Waja Replacement aka Proton Inspira.  Based on my readers they said that by looking beyond the glass of Proton COE complex besides the KESAS highway shows a lot of activity is going on thus we can sufficiently assume that the soft launch of the Proton Inspira will be happening at Proton COE complex. Based on my insider info, there will be 4 colours available for this new Proton Inspira which is the Solid White, Genetic Silver, Plum Red and Tranquillity Black and the actual launching date has been revelled that it’s going to be launch on 10th of November 2010.
Booking for this model will begin tomorrow but actually some dealers have accepted the booking of this new Proton Inspira by booking it under the Perdan V6 and later change the booking information to Proton Inspira. Some of my readers have indicated that some salesman has even received more than 20 bookings even before this is open for official booking. By looking at this scenario, looks like the waiting list for this car maybe long thus if you are planning to buy this car, then you should make your move now and place the RM1000 booking fee for the Proton Inspira.
So what’s next that will be installed by Proton. Based on the reports by Motor Trader, a phase 2 version which is more localize version will be next for this new Proton Inspira thus it has confirm my inside sources that a phase 2 version in on the card for the Proton Inspira. Based on the info that I’ve got is that Proton will rolled out the phase 2 version of this new Proton Inspira which will sport the major changes to the design of the car. This will includes the changes on the exterior of the car and also the changes on the interior of the car. The parts that will be use for this phase 2 version is more localize compared to the phase 1 which is 70% parts from Japan and 30% localize part and rumours has indicated that the phase 2 version of the Proton Inspira can hit the road within the next 12 months after the phase 1 of this car has been launched.
That will be tough for the buyers to decide now, whether you want the Japanese look or modified look by Proton which we know have always inject the sportiness in it design of cars. Only time will tell. So for the time being, let’s enjoy the soft launch that will be held today. Cheers readers of Auto Insider Malaysia

It is confirmed!!! The new Waja Lancer will be known as Proton Inspira

This was just in from my tipster funtasticko about the all new Waja Lancer. Now the puzzle is complete. We can be sure that the name has been sealed as Proton Inspira and the most important thing is we know the price will be starting from RM 79,XXX.XX. Well the price indicated in this flyer does not differ much from the speculative price of staring from 75K as we have heard earlier.  What is the most interesting about this model is Proton will offer free servicing inclusive of labours and part for 2 years and this would be great news for potential buyers as it will be a hassle free and cost saving too for the next 2 years of owning the car. So what’s next, hopefully Proton will install something nice for us during the soft launch that were schedule to happen this 15th of October. Stay tune for more updates.

Porsche AG has put a banned of access to social networking service such as Facebook  and Xing to protect the company from industrial espionage.  Porsche is so serious about it as they were concerned that a foreign intelligence services may be spying on workers posting confidential information using the social networking service or other web based services which in turn my leak some confidential information or gain unwanted observation according to Dirk Erat, a Porsche spokesman. “These services imply a certain threat potential,” Erat said. The waiting has been unbearable...wish tomorrow will be 15th of October 2010. Waiting for it patiently.

Aston Martin confirmed the Cygnet model will be put on production

Aston has just confirmed its plans to launch the Aston Martin Cygnet which is based on the Toyota iQ in 2011. According Aston Martin, this compact car will set a new benchmark for compact luxury as the world’s automaker are looking for a more viable solution for fuel economy while being green to the emission standards. This new compact luxury cars will likely powered by a 1.33 litre petrol engine with 97hp and quite a punchy 123Nm of torque and the fuel efficiency was rated at 55mpg with only emitting 120gm of Co2 per kilometre.

According to Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez, "Whatever we do, we do right. If we do performance, we do performance; we don't downsize or compromise our sports cars. The Cygnet needs to satisfy the demands of emissions and space. It is a car without compromise, just like every other Aston Martin."

Well the Aston has finally unveiled its plans, now hopefully the Lotus City Concept car will become a reality as this car has a nicer proportion of design and it will be the nearest rival of this new Aston Martin Cygnet.

2012 Honda Civic caught undisguised!!!

We have seen various spy shots and also spy video all over the internet about the all new 2012 Honda Civic, and suddenly a real undisguised video suddenly appeared on the net. Yes shown above are the video of the all new 2012 Honda Civic caught testing of what could be a hot weather test in Dubai. We can now clearly see the proportion and the design language Honda has put on to this car and it does seem smaller compared to the ongoing model which was has been hinted by Honda the possibility of having a shorter wheelbase of this new model.

From what we can see here, the new Honda Civic does look more like the bigger version of the Honda City but the body proportion of the Honda City does blend well with its design but this new Honda Civic does look a bit out of proportion with its styling, it does seems it wanted to look futuristic but in a very awkward kind of way, but that’s only my thought.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, so if you are dreaming to buy the Honda Civic and you does not fancy with its new design, then go to your nearest Honda showroom now and book your Honda Civic as currently Honda Malaysia is having a special interest rates promotion for its ranges of cars. Shown below are the latest interest rates being offered by Honda Malaysia. The catch is, the car must be registered 1st of October till 30th of November 2010.

Fiat India Automobiles recently launched the Fiat Linea 1.4 Litre T-Jet engine near Hotel Taj Land End in Mumbai. Fiat India will make available two models variant which are Linea T-Jet and Linea T-Jet Plus.

Both model variants features a 1.4 Litre turbocharged engine that produce a respective 114PS of power and a very commendable torque of 207Nm. All the power from the engine needs a powerful brake thus Fiat India has equipped with disc brake all round which is among the best in the market. Shown below are the features of the car which I would say class leading.

Linea 1.4 T-Jet: Features and Specifications

The most unique marketing campaign of all time, probably!!

We have seen various very unique and very interesting marketing or campaign coming from Audi but this new marketing stun dubbed “The Audi Spectacle” is the most unique of all. This new marketing concept being presented by Access ad agency has reinvented the term billboard by showing Audi famous four rings being suspended on some of the world’s most iconic landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, Tower Bridge in London, Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia and Rialto Bridge in Venice.

The life size installation will include a real car hanging on its platform thus it would need a very sturdy platform and also a sturdy iconic landmark if this concept of marketing becomes reality. It would be nice to see this becomes reality and it would be one of the best and unique marketing techniques of all time.

Locally assemble Volvo XC60 will be launch next month

Volvo Car Malaysia recently announced that it will locally assemble the Volvo XC60 at its manufacturing plant in Shah Alam, Selangor and the official launch of this locally assemble model will be in November 2010. The Volvo XC60 has been a huge success as it is the most popular Volvo model in terms of worldwide sales and it has also been a huge success here in Malaysia as all CBU allocation of this model has been snapped up thus a local assemble is a viable move for Volvo Car Malaysia to offer a premium SUV model for the masses here in Malaysia.

The version for local assembly will be the XC60 2.0 Turbo featuring PowerShift transmission and it will come equipped with many intelligent safety systems such as Collision Warning with Auto Brake (CWAB), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and also Dynamic Stability & Traction Control (DSTC). Besides that, the new Volvo XC60 will also be equip with City Safety which is a pioneering safety technology that helps to avoid low speed collision in the city traffic. What this system does is to automatically slows or even stop the XC60 altogether to avoid a collision or to reduce the impact which may lead to serious injuries.

Volvo Car Malaysia also has thrown in a special goodies when you buy this locally assemble XC60 but it is only limited to the first 60 customers that book the car beginning October 11 and taking the delivery of the car by end of this year and the goodies is worth RM 6000. This package comprises a decor trim air intake, skid plate rear bumper, load organizer, sports pedals and a dirt cover bumper.

Besides that, I just wanted to share my experience driving my car yesterday evening along the road from USJ towards Subang Jaya, and what caught me by surprise is, I saw a glimpse of the all new s60 roaming the road going towards USJ. Sadly, I didn’t manage to capture the picture of this car as I am travelling on the other side of the road and I am on the fast lane, but the glimpse of its headlamp, its sculpture front bumper and also a very distinctive s60 fog lamp caught my attention with it sea weed green colour.

What actually am I seeing. It is the real s60 going on the road test as Volvo Car Malaysia has indicated that is going to launch the s60 next year or it is a parallel imported cars. I’m not so sure. Do share if you have seen this car on the road in the comment section. I will try to dig for more info about this new car. Stay tune!!

Proton recalls Gen2 and Satria Neo!!

Proton just recently announced a voluntary recall of its Gen2 and Satria Neo cars that was made between April 2004 and June 2008 due to clock spring malfunction that may cause potential safety concern. This clock spring connects switches and airbag to the radio, horn and also the cruise control for the high line model. Proton has accounted a total of 15,911 units of cars or two percent of total production volume of 660,000 of cars that were produce and sold over the four year period and this voluntary recall is part of Proton’s Global Quality Assurance programme.

The issue regarding the clock spring were indentified during Proton’s routine check and irregularities were found on the clock spring that causes a symptom of friction noise within the steering wheel, activation of horn or car lights without warning, audio control malfunction and the most extreme cases, un intentionally deployment of the driver side airbag.

All new Volkswagen Beetle caught uncovered!!

This is the latest spy shot of the all new Volkswagen Beetle that was caught uncovered in the States. Overall the look of this new Bug is an evolution from the current design with only an avid eye can tell difference of the old design vs. the new design which is not bad either as even BMW takes the same approached for the iconic Mini car.
The most noticeable difference will be the roof line of the new car compared to the current design. The A-pillar of this car also has seen some changes which are a bit further in ward compared to the current design thus eliminating the blind spot issue of the current design.
I have my friend who drives this car and he says the blind spot is quite annoying as it is quite hard to see any incoming cars especially when negotiating at a tight bend as the current design, the driver sits further back to accommodate the large top surface of the dashboard.
With the introduction of the new Bug in Malaysia, I’m sure VW of Malaysia is eyeing for another sale success as currently the Beetle model is one of the best selling model here in Malaysia apart from the Golf GTi’s

BMW teases yet again.

We have seen various viral video of a very mysterious BMW model from the teaser site of Dontblogaboutthis.com, and this blog has released a new video which shows the car in action but with limited details. As you can see from the video, BMW has drop the 6 series body shell and now the car features what would be the actual shell of the car that features a full BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics (VED) Concept that shows its glimpse during the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
So far there is no indication what will power the car but based on the concept that is currently on show it features a plug in hybrid power train which combines a three cylinder diesel engine with two electric motors that produce an amazing 351bhp and a massive 800Nm of torque with a century sprint in 4.8 seconds. The car will be electronically limited to 155Mph only but such amazing feat will not burn more fossil fuel which will have a rated fuel consumption of only 3.76 litres/100km and a Co2 emission of 99g/km which will easily passed the Euro 6 emission regulation.
The car is expected to be launced in 2013 in limited numbers of 10,000 units and it be wear the name of i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid.

The latest ICE technology from Volkswagen

This is one of the latest technologies Volkswagen is in testing which is using the cables connectivity to connect your phone not only for the music streaming but also pairing the phone with the touch screen head unit of the VW cars.

Volkswagen called it Terminal Mode, which allows VW’s touch screen to the display exactly what is showing on your smartphone screen which easily said an extension to the phone screen. Now what's on your phone, can just be a fingertips away with this extension of the screen such as GPS, music, text messaging, weather updates, twitting right on a highly visible location.

The is system is still in development stage as currently VW testing it with resistive screen which will have a slightly slower responses as compared to capacitive screen but Volkswagen has promise that the end product will use the latter technology. This piece of technology will further spur the development of paid automobile apps as it will be a very cost effective and also a very easy solution to offer a better integration between the phone and also the car head units.

To tell you the truth, I have seen this piece of technology first hand, but not from VW but from Continental AG of Germany where currently Continental also is still in developing stage of producing the same system to be offered to OEM of car audio manufacturer. The units being develop from Continental using the same approach of having use cables as the means of data transmission as what we can on this Volkswagen test unit.
