For the petrol head and also for any people who like to have great bargain of buying a new car, head down to the New Straits Times COTY2U Carnival 2010 in conjunction with Maybank. The COTY2U carnival starts yesterday till today from 11am till 9pm held at Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre near Jalan Duta Kuala Lumpur.
I’ve been there yesterday to check out the event and the event is like a mini motor show with car companies showcasing variety of cars especially the cars that were involved in the New Straits Times-Maybank Car of the Year 2010 People Choice Award (more on this). Admisson for this event is RM5 per person, but if you do have any Maybank Bankcard, Maybank Credit Card or Maybank Debit Card the admission is free.
Among the attraction for this event are cars sales, car accessories sales, games for children, defensive driving course, test drive a variety of cars, insurance and financing exhibition and promotions, summons checking and payment of summons, In Car Entertainment contest, classic car exhibition and also a 10 point safety vehicles checks from Puspakom for special rates of only RM30.
As for the New Straits Times-Maybank Car of the Year 2010 People Choice Award, there are a total of 53 cars on display vying the top honours in 17 categories. Besides the COTY Award, there is also exhibition of the latest models such as the Peugeot 308 Turbo that was officiated by the Minister of Transport Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, the Proton Exora Range Extended EV vehicles, Renault Megane RS and also the new Modenas CTric Electric motorcycle which has a range of 60km per charge with the cost per charge on less than RM2.
