SPYSHOTS: All New Lexus NX Caught On Trailer!!!

Looks like the impending launch of the new Lexus NX is really ramping up as the latest spyshot of the the uncovered Lexus NX was caught by me this morning at the Elite Highway south bound. There are two examples of NX on the trailer with different wheel design most probably the normal NX20T and the Hybrid version the NX300h. 

From the look of it, looking at the car live, the design is really nice and not too awkward as compared to what we look on the pics. Well the launch is near, in fact less than two weeks from now, thus stay tune for more latest update and news coverage during the launching event.

37-year old Arnizah binti Kasbulah, a self-employed preschool teacher from Kota Kinabalu, was delighted and could not believe her luck. “My first choice was the Nissan Almera, but after surveying the market, I purchased the Nissan Sylphy as it is more suitable for my needs. PRESS RELEASE: Perodua Aids Flood Victims in Sarawak

Perodua is offering assistance to all Perodua vehicle owners who were impacted by the flood in several areas in Sarawak recently.

Perodua will be providing assistance in the form of discounts on selected parts and free inspections to determine the amount of damage done to the vehicle.

“Our customers matter most to us and these value added services are provided to help relieve some of the burden our customers have to deal with during this disaster,” Perodua President & CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid said.

On the assistance given, Aminar said that Perodua will reimburse towing service fees up to a maximum of RM100 (one hundred ringgit only) to the nearest Perodua service outlet. In total, there are 176 Perodua service outlets nationwide. (Terms and Conditions apply). 

In addition, Perodua is also offering 20% off selected genuine parts to Perodua owners whose vehicles are damaged by the floods.

The parts include all electronic items, carpet, vehicle seats, door trims and engine overhaul gasket.

NEW LAUNCHES: Peugeot 208 S Launched In Malaysia. Price At RM87K On The Road!!!

Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, today launched the Peugeot 208 S based on the multiple award winning and highly-acclaimed Peugeot 208.

The popular hatchback has undergone a dramatic restyling. New additions to the limited edition Peugeot S include an S Kit spoiler, S Kit stripes, S Kit side mirror and a new SR1 grille. The racing-inspired Peugeot 208 S is set for a limited run. The variant comes in Digital White only.

NEW LAUNCHES: Perodua Launched The All New Facelifted Myvi!!!

Perodua launched its New Myvi model, replacing the current Myvi model line-up, here today packed with better features and at greater value for its customers.

The New Myvi’s new improvements include enhanced safety features, better styling and at a better price positioning.

“The Myvi has been well accepted by the market and has so far generated a total sales volume of over 800,000 units, making it the most popular Perodua model to date,” Perodua President and CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.

“The Myvi has impacted a lot of lives in Malaysia and we believe that this model is still relevant and well accepted by our society. We offer our heartfelt thank you to all Malaysians for your continued support,” Aminar said.

The New Myvi was launched by Perodua Chairman, Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin at a Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, today.

The New Perodua Myvi safety features are now improved with a 4-star rating by the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asia) as we have enhanced the vehicle structure to better withstand frontal impacts in line with global standards.

Improvements for the New Myvi include front corner sensors that can be activated by the driver based on need. 

“This feature will assist drivers when making tricky corners when parking. In addition, this feature can be deactivated when driving or during traffic jams as not to cause unnecessary discomfort to the driver,” Aminar said.

Aminar said that the New Myvi also features an anti-snatch hook on the front passenger seat and a retractable cup holder for storage convenience.

“We have also updated our multimedia system to include a reverse camera for selected variants,” Aminar said.

“These improvements were made after an extensive study on how we can bring greater value to our customers and from this study we were able to increase the value proposition by RM4,500 – through both added features and price down,” he said.

Aminar added that these improvements was part of the compact carmaker’s as well as its vendors’ continuous effort to further reduce cost and transfer some of the savings to the customers.

“To add a little flavour to the New Myvi, we are featuring 2 new metallic colours, which are Electric Blue (SE and Advanced variants) and Cosmic Gold (Standard G and Premium X variants) alongside favourite colours of Ozzy Orange, Mystical Purple, Glittering Silver and Ivory White (Solid),” Aminar said.

“We target to sell 6,000 units of the New Myvi a month,” he added. 

There will be a total 2 segments to the New Myvi consisting of 4 variants. The first segment will be in the 1.3-litre category, which comes in Standard G (MT/AT) and a new variant – Premium X (AT only).

The second segment is the 1.5-litre category, which include the Myvi SE 1.5 (MT/AT) and the Myvi Advance Version (AT only). 

The Price range for The New Myvi is between RM41,500 and RM58,900 in peninsular Malaysia.

Volvo Trucks Malaysia officially opened its newly-refurbished and enhanced dealership in a new location in the East Malaysian town of Sibu, Sarawak, over the weekend. 

The opening of the dealership underlined Volvo Trucks’ commitment in expanding its offering of total transport solutions to current and potential customers with business operations that ply the areas of East Malaysia. This strategic move also attests the importance of Sibu to Volvo Trucks as it is currently the second highest revenue contributor after the central region of West Malaysia in terms of parts sale.

Mr Mats Nilsson, Managing Director of Volvo Malaysia described the opening as an important event that heralds another key milestone for the brand. 

He said, “The opening of our new Sibu dealership is part of our RM75 million investment which has been earmarked for upgrading of our dealerships across Malaysia. It reflects our continued business commitment in network development strategy which is in line with our corporate direction to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen relationship through higher efficiency and shorter wait time.”

NEW LAUNCHES: UMW Toyota Launched The Improved Toyota Vios 2015

The Toyota Vios, now in its 3rd generation, was introduced back in October 2013, and has been the bestselling non-national car since 2008. The Toyota Vios continues to wow the market, meeting customer’s expectation for dynamic styling, interior with perceived high quality design and spacious rear cabin.

For the 2015 model year, the Vios has been upgraded significantly to make it even better value for money. Responding to feedback from customers as well as following market trends, a number of features have now been added, maintaining the position of the Vios as a car which meets customers’ high expectations. 

The Vios 1.5E and 1.5J variants now have the extra convenience of the Smart Entry and Push Start system. With this feature available across the range, all Vios owners no longer need to use the remote control to lock/unlock the doors nor do they need a key to start the engine.

For those who have preferred the Vios 1.5G with a black interior, like the Vios 1.5 TRD Sportivo, this is now offered in place of the beige theme. As before, leather upholstery is standard, now also in black.

Complementing the sporty image of the Vios 1.5 TRD Sportivo is the addition of amber-coloured front foot illumination. For the Vios 1.5G, the illumination is blue in colour to provide a sense of relaxation and calmness.

New for the Vios 1.5G and 1.5E are scuff plates on the door sills. These provide protection for the sills which may accidentally be rubbed by shoes upon entering or exiting the car.

Inside the 2015 model, the ‘Value Beyond Belief’ concept that has given the cabin an impressive and class-above feel is maintained. Travelling comfort over long distances is assured with the ergonomically-sound structure of the front and rear seats. The sports seats installed in the Vios 1.5 TRD Sportivo offer additional side support as well.

Chrome trim is more evident on the exterior of the new Vios 1.5E and 1.5J variants which now have chrome door handles (previous body colour). At the rear, the garnish strip that runs across the width of the bootlid is also finished in chrome, making for a classier image.

The powertrain specifications remain unchanged, with the 1.5-litre VVT-i engine and 4-speed Super ECT transmission having demonstrated reliability and economical running for many years. However, adhering to kaizen (constant improvement), little detail changes have been made which may not be apparent to customers.

Customers have a choice of accessories which they can include with their purchase of the new Vios. This includes Toyota Premium Security & Solar Film which provide safety and impedes break-ins and glass being shattered, while providing a cooler cabin. This item is standard on the 1.5 TRD Sportivo and 1.5G, and is optional for the 1.5E and 1.5J. It is fully compliant with JPJ regulations and comes with a 7-year warranty. There is also a new item, the Portable Tyre Pump that comes in standard for all variants, which enables inflation of the tyres anywhere, enabling owners to ensure that their tyres are always maintained at the correct pressures for optimum performance.

For those who want to give their Vios a sportier look, there is the optional 5-piece Aerokit with Daytime Running Light, which has been specially developed for the Vios. If selected by the customer, the accessories are installed by professionals at UMW Toyota Motor’s own Integrated Quality Hub. This ensures that the quality matches that of the rest of the car.

With the 2015 Vios, UMW Toyota Motor now offers a more advanced infotainment system. The new optional DVD-AVN system comes with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, connectivity with compatible smartphones that will allow connection to the internet, WiFi, HDMI, Bluetooth and even Voice Recognition. Besides using ‘sweep gestures’ for navigation, the owner can customise the display screen widgets. This system comes with reverse camera as well.

The new optional DVD-AVX system now comes with a larger 6.1-inch display screen (previously 5.8 inches) and has connectivity options such as USB, SD, AUX and Bluetooth. It comes with a reverse camera as well and images are shown on a screen with higher resolution.

As before, customers can choose from 5 exterior colours – White, Silver Metallic, Medium Silver Metallic, Attitude Black, and Quartz Brown Metallic.

PRESS RELEASE: Perodua Send 100 Volunteers To Help Flood Victims

Perodua recently send some 100 volunteers, consisting of its staff, to assist in the flood clean-up efforts and has set aside RM400,000 for the victims of the east coast floods, namely in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.

Media reports said floodwaters ravaged part of Pahang, Terengganu and most part of Kelantan in a three-week flood which has displaced nearly a quarter of a million people. 

The local media describe the flood as one of the worst floods in Malaysian in over 30 years. 

“The 100 people we are sending are part of our volunteer programme to assist community-based projects nationwide,” Perodua President & CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.

Aminar said that Perodua has already sent a “scout team” on the 2nd Jan to access the situation and make a report on what items are needed for the flood aftermath clean-up.

He said that Perodua has also set aside a budget of RM400,000 for the victims of the flood. 

So far, Perodua has spent RM90,000 of the RM400,000 to supply emergency rations to the flood victims in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang via Majlis Keselamatan Negara.

“The remaining RM310,000 will be utilised to help the victims, particularly families with school-going children to buy essentials for the up-coming school term, including our staff and dealers affected by this unfortunate incident” Aminar said.

Aminar added that Perodua’s flood relief programme, which was introduced in 2011, was still in affect and offers 20% discounts on selected parts on Perodua vehicles damaged by the flood for the compact car company’s valued customers.

Perodua’s customers whose vehicles were damaged during the recent floods are encouraged to call the Perodua’s toll free customer care line at 1800-88-6600 for assistance.

On the assistance given, Aminar said that Perodua will reimburse towing service fees up to a maximum of RM100 (one hundred ringgit only) to the nearest Perodua service outlet. In total, there are 176 Perodua service outlets nationwide. (Terms and Conditions apply). 

“We pray for those who lost their family and belongings to be strong in facing this “musibah” (ordeal) and may Allah SWT protect and bless us with better wellbeing in the future,” he said.

Aminar also visited Perodua staff and business partners which were hard hit by the flood and offered cash assistance to those in need.

NEW LAUNCHES: New Improved Toyota Hilux Launched. Hilux TRD Sportivo Top Of The Line!!!

For the 2015 model year, the Toyota Hilux receives improvements which refresh its looks as well as giving a more premium feel with the additional enhancements like Daytime Running Light (DRL), leather seat upgrade for the 2.5G AT variants, among others. UMW Toyota Motor also introduces the TRD Sportivo variants, a Sporty Pick-up truck that is catered for the young and young at heart.

The Toyota Hilux is undoubtedly the Malaysia’s best-selling pick-up truck with over 180,000 units of the current generation sold since its launch in Malaysia in 2005. Its continued position as the market leader in its segment has been due to not only the advanced and tough appearance but more importantly, a globally proven record of reliability and durability for over 40 years (since its first production in 1968). 

The TRD variants consist of 3.0G TRD Sportivo (AT) and 2.5G TRD Sportivo (AT). TRD, being the high-performance arm of Toyota, has developed a TRD bodykit specially for the Hilux which adds sportiness to the looks and provides more distinctive differentiation from the other variants.

In response to customer requests, additional lock is now provided for the spare wheel on all Hilux variants. This will help deter theft attempt of the spare wheel which is located under the rear of the vehicle. 

Having customers’ convenience in mind, a portable tyre pump will be added as standard for Hilux 3.0G, 2.5G AT and TRD variants (it is optional for Hilux 2.5G MT, Double Cab Standard and Single Cab). Customer can enjoy the convenience to re-inflate tyres anywhere, even at home. 

It is also very helpful during an emergency, whereby Hilux users can immediately access to a tyre pump although there is no petrol station in nearby vicinity. Designed with LED lights to aid usability at night, the portable tyre pump also comes with multiple types of nozzles to inflate various other inflatables. 

Toyota Optional Accessories 

A more advanced level of connectivity is now provided to Hilux owners (3.0G, 2.5G and TRD variants only) with the optional DVD-AVN system that includes a reverse camera with static guide lines. PRESS RELEASE: Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin Lends a Helping Hand To Help Flood Victims

Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the Naza Group of Companies continues to play a role in contributingsupplies in aid of the affected flood victims. The RM1mil pledge is in line with one of the foundation’s objectives of helping in the efforts of disaster relief.

The foundation announced the subsequent stage of contributions consisting of 500 cartons of ready-to-eat food supplies and 300 cartons of drinks to the Muslim Care Malaysia Society at Shah Alam. The non-governmental organisation will be delivering the goods directly to Kuala Krai, Kelantan.

Earlier on 26 December 2014, the Group initiated the distribution of 3,000 boxes of essential supplies to flood-affected states. 30 tonnes of essential supplies were transported by lorry while another 5,000 kilograms were transported by air. The supplies includedboats, dry food items, prayer items (sejadah, etc), toiletries, medication, diapers, clothes, baby formulaand other necessities. 

"As a responsible homegrown company, the Naza Group and Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin feel compelled to extend assistance in whatever way possible to help alleviate the suffering of the flood victims. We will extend help from now until post-disaster," said SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin, one of the foundation’s board of directors and the Joint Group Executive Chairman of the Naza Group of Companies. 

Plans are also being made for volunteers and post-disaster clean up.

About Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin 

Formed in honour of the founder of Naza Group of Companies, at present, the Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin is spearheaded by the wife of the late Tan Sri, Puan Sri Datin Seri Utama Zaleha Ismail together with a Board of Trustees consisting of family members and staff from the conglomerate.

In 2014, a donation of RM250,000 was given to the affected flood victims in the east coast states and Johor via the Tabung Bencana NSTP-Media Prima. A similar donation of RM100,000 was also donated to the victims of the landslide in Ulu Langat back in 2010. 

As for Health, there were two main projects. In conjunction with Peugeot 200th year anniversary in 2010, a portion from the sale of every Peugeot sold from July to September 2010 was donated to Hospis Malaysia. It summed up to a total of RM200,000 worth of contributions. A year later on the same cause, a Peugeot 207 was given to the Assunta Palliative Care Centre (AsPaCC) for the organisation’s use. 

On Poverty where the foundation places the utmost importance on, donations worth more than RM60,000 were contributed for two years in 2012 and 2013 to the United Nations World Food Program which feeds families and children who are hunger stricken in the Asia Pacific region. Locally, charitable homes in Malaysia were also recipients of the foundation. A donation amounting to RM162,500 was distributed this year during the holy month of Ramadhan.
