Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd sees no immediate interruption in the supply of its models in Malaysia from the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan last week.
In a statement on Tuesday, Honda said the inventory for the four complete knock-down models of Accord, CR-V, Civic and City and other four completely built-up models in Malaysia was sufficient for the next one to two months.
Its managing director/chief executive officer, Yoichiro Ueno, said the company was monitoring the situation closely.
"We will make the relevant announcement when we have more information," he said.
Honda Motor Co Ltd in Japan has suspended production at all its major plants for one week from yesterday to March 20, 2011, in support of the nationwide recovery efforts.
It said it would make decisions based on the status of the recovery of their parts suppliers and the Japanese society as a whole.
